About The Workshop
Jazz pianist, composer, band leader and all-round polymath Ron Davis explains how the Playing Along to Surpass teamwork and leadership workshop unfolds:

"The trio plays a simple, recognizable tune. We've just demonstrated how we work together to create our music, in an instinctive but informed way."

"I talk about my role: leading in order to draw the best out of the players, but not being so heavy-handed as to stifle their creativity. My goal in the workshop is to demonstrate a model that participants can use to bring the best out in themselves and their employees."

"The workshop continues with audience participation. Everyone makes music, has a lot of fun and learns a few lessons about collaboration, commitment and how to surpass themselves."

We draw out talents in people that they might not normally exercise. This is personally satisfying for the participants, and at the same time illustrates productive team effort. The business implications are obvious.

"We end the workshop with a trio tune. A lively Q&A follows."
After attending the workshop, participants go away energized and motivated to use new techniques for enhancing employer and employee morale, achievement and satisfaction. Participants have a great time and learn first-hand how to Play Along to Surpass.

The workshop typically runs for about an hour but can be tailored for both longer and shorter sessions. The jazz trio is our preferred configuration but we can bring a duo or a larger ensemble depending on the size of your group, venue and budget. Ask about our program that brings us into your workplace for a workshop, and is followed by a concert for a larger audience.
